Inspector Gearoid Thompson and local councillor Michael Collins in Newcastle West
NOBODY wants to get charged in a garda station but on this occasion it will be very welcome in Bruff and Newcastle West.
Inspector Gearoid Thompson said they have power in Bruff garda station and all without ESB are welcome to pop in.
“If anybody needs to charge a phone - bring your charger - or bring flasks for hot water please call up. Even if you just want a cuppa to warm yourself up please call in,” said Insp Thompson.

He adds that the Desmond Complex in Newcastle West (V42 EV60), in conjunction with gardaí, have made their facilities available for teas, coffees, phone charging etc.
“Anyone requiring hot water - bring your own flask - or microwave facilities will be made available from noon to 6pm this Sunday. We will be at the Desmond Complex this afternoon so please come along and please share to let as many people know as possible,” said Insp Thompson.
They also opened their doors until midnight last night. As they are doing God’s work it is fitting that members of the Gilgal Pentecostal Church called in and they even challenged the gardai to a cricket match in the summer.

Warm weather is something we’re all looking forward to after heavy snow, ice, rain and winds approaching hurricane category this month.
