Met Eireann stick with 20C sun blast forecast despite brutal Ireland weather warning
Met Éireann is still predicting some sunnier and drier weather for Ireland despite most of the country being issued with a rain warning on Tuesday.
The weather warning for 18 counties warns of "persistent" rain on Tuesday but thing may change for the better after thos that warning lapses in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Met Éireann's outlook says it looks like "becoming drier, but still a few showers. Temperatures of 15 to 20 degrees."
They ay Tuesday night will see rain "continue over the northern half of the country, with further heavy falls possible. It will be drier further south with clear spells developing. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees in moderate northwesterly winds."
Forecasters predict "Wednesday will remain mostly cloudy in Ulster and north Leinster with further outbreaks of rain and drizzle and highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees. It will be drier further south with sunny spells and highs of 17 to 20 degrees in moderate northwest winds.
"Cloudy conditions in the north along with patchy rain and drizzle will move southwards during the night [Wednesday]. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees in light to moderate north or northwest winds.
"Thursday will be mostly cloudy at first with some patchy light rain or drizzle. It will brighten up with sunny spells developing and a few showers in the east. Highest temperatures of 14 to 19 degrees with light to moderate northerly winds, fresher along northern and exposed Atlantic coasts.

"Friday will be mainly dry with bright or sunny spells and a few showers, these most likely in the east. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees with mostly light northerly breezes.
"Saturday will bring sunny spells and well scattered showers. Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees with light variable breezes.
"At the moment, it looks like Sunday will start off mainly dry, but rain will move up from the south later in the day. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees with mostly light winds."
