A VIRAL video clip, captured and used on RTÉ, of a Limerick woman’s emotional response during the 2018 All-Ireland hurling final has re-ignited passionate memories ahead of this Sunday's showdown.

Patricia ‘Trish’ O’Dowd, from Pallaskenry, was caught off guard in the Hogan Stand in 2018 when cameras caught her visibly emotional as a result of Limerick’s historical win.

Today, the Daly's Hurleys employee is confident that the senior hurlers will do her proud once again as they bid to overcome Kilkenny for their fourth All-Ireland title in-a-row.

“The TV shot of me that was captured in 2018 was one of trepidation, tiredness, hope - it was everything rolled into one,” Trish said.

“I had had about two hours sleep the night before and to give context, it had been an exhausting week in the run up to the final. Those nine minutes of extra time were the longest ever, ever, ever!”

Trish travels with her female friends and their children to every match, with a typical match day being described as ‘chaos’.

“We travel to all of the matches together,” she smiled before going on to explain how preparation for the big day out starts about two days beforehand!

“Meeting up on the morning of the match, we are all full of excitement and keeping an eye on social media for the latest updates to see what’s what.”

For this year's final the group are traveling to Croke Park by bus and returning home to the Treaty City by train “with Liam!”
