The former Moneypoint AFC schoolboy came through the Treaty United Carelon Academy and made his senior debut for the club at just 17 years of age in 2022 against Waterford.

The Clare native has since gone on to make 57 appearances and has proven to be a versatile and reliable player at senior level.

Doherty comes off the back of a season in which he lifted the Eustace Cup with his university side, TUS Limerick, alongside fellow Treaty teammates Colin Conroy and Richkov Boevi in March.

Despite a season disrupted by injuries, he continued to impress when available and most recently represented the Republic of Ireland Colleges and Universities side against the Irish Defence Forces at the end of November.

"I’m proud to continue with Treaty for the 2026 season. Despite missing a lot of football last year due to injury, I’m fully focused on returning stronger and ready to contribute to the team for the year ahead. Excited for a big season and ready to get to work," Doherty said, speaking to Treaty United.

Manager Tommy Barrett is delighted to re-sign Doherty ahead of next season.

"Fionn is another good signing for us. He came through the academy, got a few injuries last year, but still made an impact in numerous positions. He is someone who can play from full back up to centre forward.

"We know he has great attributes, and he has improved year on year. He just needs an injury-free season. Fionn definitely adds to our squad with his good attitude and athleticism."
