TREATY United have re-signed yet another player ahead of the 2026 season with defender Darren Nwankwo the latest to commit his future to the Garryowen-based side.

The 20-year-old enters his fifth season with the senior team, having made his debut in June 2022.
Nwankwo progressed through the Treaty United Carelon Academy before making his first Senior appearance during the club’s second season in senior men’s football.
2023 proved to be a breakout year for the Castletroy native, as he became a mainstay in the heart of the Treaty defence while the side narrowly missed out on a playoff place on the final day of the season.
Injuries limited Nwankwo's senior involvement over the past two campaigns, but he featured 16 times for Dave Rooney’s MU20 side in 2024, scoring three goals as Treaty reached the quarter-finals of both the shield and cup competitions.
Tommy Barrett was happy to have Darren signed up for 2026 and feels that the defender has a high ceiling if he can stay injury free.
Darren Nwankwo becomes the latest player to re-sign for 2026 alongside Ben Lee, Ben Lynch and Richkov Boevi.
