Amy Tierney nets first senior goal as Treaty Utd ease past Sligo in Women's Premier Division

IN-FORM Treaty United strolled to a 3-0 victory over Sligo Rovers in the SSE Airtricity League Women's Premier Division at the Markets Field on Saturday to ensure they stay a point behind leaders Athlone Town.

Treaty have now won four of their opening five league fixtures in an impressive start to the new season.

Home side Treaty hit the front in the 42nd minute as Isabella Flocchini beat visiting keeper Bonnie McKiernan in a race for possession before delightfully chipping the netminder from the edge of the penalty area.

Madelyn Robbins then doubled the Treaty advantage in the 72nd minute before Limerick teenager Amy Tierney grabbed her first senior goal late on to seal three precious points for Sean Russell's side.

In team news prior to kick-off, Cara Griffin, Clodagh Daly and Kate Jones came into Treaty's starting XI.

Next up for Treaty United in the Women's Premier Division is a trip to the Athlone Town Stadium on Saturday next, 7.30pm, to face table toppers Athlone Town.
