TREATY United turn their attention to this Friday's SSE Airtricity League of Ireland clash against Dundalk. Tommy Barrett's side suffered a heartbreaking 3-2 to Cobh Ramblers in the season opener. However, since then Treaty have responded excellently recording victories over Athlone Town and Finn Harps in the last two weeks.
Manager Barrett says his side will go up to Dundalk with confidence.
“We need to have massive energy up there if we are to get anything out of the game. They're the favourites and the favourites for a reason. We don't fear anyone and we'll go up there confident,” he said.
Despite last Friday night's 3-1 victory over Finn Harps. the Treaty manager feels his team needs to be better.
“We can be a lot better and expect us to be better. It is all about the three points at this level. I am happy that way that we got the three points. I am definitely looking for better performances for the future. We've been clinical the last few weeks, but there is improvements needed.”
Robbie Lynch, Lee J Lynch, Ben Lynch and Fionn Doherty all missed Friday night's clash against Finn Harps through injury.
“It's a big squad and the players that came on (last Friday) changed it. I probably always have an eye on the next game and I probably would be starting a couple of those guys that came on anyway. It'll be a different team and a high energy team next week.”
Lee Devitt continued his impressive form on Friday night. The Clare native grabbed his fifth goal of the season against Finn Harps at the Markets Field.
“It's great for Lee and he's been fantastic for us since he came to us from Cobh. Obviously, I had him previously with Limerick as well and I would have given him his debut way back now. He's always been a great lad and he's becoming a great leader of this team. He's a real goalscoring threat.”
Treaty United's clash against Dundalk sees the meeting of first and second in the SSE Airtricity League of Ireland First Division. Dundalk are favourites to make the jump straight back up to the Premier Division.
