TREATY United have made their first new signing ahead of the 2025 League of Ireland season.

The Limerick senior soccer club have now moved into double figures of players as manager Tommy Barrett continues to assemble his squad for the new First Division season, which gets underway against Cobh Ramblers on February 14 at 7:45pm in Markets Fields.

Valerii Dolia is the first new name confirmed by the club with all other confirmed squad members resigning from last season.

26-year-old winger, Dolia joins Tommy Barrett’s squad having most recently lined out for Kerry FC where he made sixteen appearances.

A native of Ukraine, Valerii played in the country’s second tier where he lined out for Energiya NK, FK Nikopol and SK Tavriya. He joined Athlone Town in the summer of 2022 and made a significant impact over his 18 months with the club. During this time, he scored 11 goals and provided three assists and played a key role in Athlone reaching the playoffs in 2023.

“Valerii missed a lot of last season but is a really good goalscoring threat. He’s technically very good and will add greatly to our attacking options, and we think we can get him to kick on to the highs he had with Athlone. I’m excited to work with him and I think he’s one that will excite the fans too,” said Tommy Barrett of the Dolia signing.

Players confirmed by the club to-date are  Valerii Dolia, Mark Byrne, Evan O’Connor, Mark Walsh, Colin Conroy, Trpimir Vrljicak, Richkov Boevi, Fionn Doherty, Yoyo Mahdy, Corey Chambers, Lee Devitt.

Stephen Christopher, Ben O'Riordan and Enda Curran are among the players that the club have confirmed will not be returning for the 2025 season. Curran scored over 100 goals for the Limerick city based club.

Treaty finished seventh in the First Division league this season with 11 wins, 11 draws and 14 losses .

Barrett's side reached the last eight of the FAI Cup where they were defeated by Wexford FC.

The Garryowen based club will play 36 games throughout the League of Ireland campaign.

Dundalk FC will be strong favourities to make an immediate return after being relegated from the Premier Division.
