IT'S BEEN a busy few days for Treaty United with both the men's and women's squads being bolstered by new signings. Ben O'Riordan and Lee Devitt have confirmed they are staying with the club, while Cara Griffin and Anne-Marie Ulliac have signed on again with the women's team.

Cork native O'Riordan will be at Treaty in 2024, having joined the club from Cobh in 2022. He has made 47 appearances for the club thus far and manager Tommy Barrett is delighted to have him with the club once again.

"I’m delighted to have Ben signed up again," Barrett told the club's website. He’s starting work in Limerick in January, so he’ll be able to train a bit more with less travel.

"He’s a top lad and is a really experienced player for his age; he’s a very good defender that can play right back or centre back. You know what you get with Ben and he’s a good role model for the younger players coming through."

Devitt will also enter into his third season with Treaty after also signing for 2024. The versatile player had a great 2023 and Barrett will be hopeful that he can improve even more this season.

New women's manager Dominic Foley will have Griffin and Ulliac as part of his squad for the new season after both signed up for another year with the club.

Griffin will be entering her fifth season with Treaty and was named as Women's Player of the Year in 2022, while Ulliac will be in her second. The Canadian netminder had an outstanding 2023 and has become a fan's favourtie.

Barrett will however be without forward Dean George for the new season after he confirmed his exit following three years at Treaty United.

George has moved to fellow SSE Airtricity League First Division side Longford Town ahead of the new season.
