The winner of Monday’s Lotto Pick and Play Plus 2 draw has already collected their €100,000 prize

A LIMERICK player has claimed the first-ever top prize of €100,000 in the Lotto Pick and Play Plus 2 draw.

The player matched all five numbers in the six-number game for Monday’s draw. The winning ticket was purchased online on the day of the draw and the winner has since visited National Lottery headquarters in Dublin to collect their prize.

The life-changing win was the first since game enhancements were introduced in early September. As part of the refresh, the number of balls in the main Lotto draw was reduced from 47 to 45, with numbers 46 and 47 officially retiring from the game.

Speaking after claiming their prize, the winner said the reality of the win is still sinking in. “Once the excitement settles down, I'll be doing a bit of car shopping and looking after family. It's great to be in a position to share something like this with the people closest to me!"

Separately, a Lotto player from County Clare has until this Friday claim a €89,430 prize which was won over the summer.

The National Lottery is continuing its search for the holder of the unclaimed Lotto ticket which was purchased in Miltown Malbay.

The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased at McNamee's Londis, Bank Place in the town on the day of the Lotto draw on Saturday, July 25.

National Lottery spokesperson Darragh O'Dwyer urged players to carry out one final search for the ticket: "Time is running out for this winner to claim a Lotto prize worth €89,430. The ticket was purchased during the height of summer in one of Clare's busiest tourist areas, so we're appealing not only to local players but also to anyone who may have been visiting or passing through the area at the time."

"Now is the time to do one final check. Look through old jackets, handbags, wallets, the car, the back of the sofa, drawers and even holiday luggage. The winning ticket could easily have been tucked away and forgotten about, but it's worth €89,430 to the person who finds it."

The winning numbers for the Lotto draw on 25th July were: 23, 24, 25, 42, 43, 46 and the Bonus was 37.

All National Lottery ticket holders have 90 days from the date of the draw to claim their prize, which means the Clare winner has until close of business this Friday, October 23 to claim, meaning there are just days left to claim this prize.
