Festival winner White Noise star attraction at Haydock

Cheltenham Festival heroine White Noise makes a swift reappearance in the Unibet Abram Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at Haydock on Wednesday.

The six-year-old was last seen coming to the fore at the Prestbury Park in March, landing the Ryanair Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle under Tom Bellamy at 40-1.

Her success was the culmination of a brilliant season so far, with the mare winning four out of five to date.

“She’s in great order, this has been the plan since before the meeting moved from Cheltenham to Haydock,” said Mat Nicholls, who trains White Noise in partnership with Kim Bailey.

“Hopefully the course will suit her. The step up to two miles and five furlongs definitely will and we’re all really looking forward to it.

“She’s run over this kind of trip already when she was a point-to-pointer so it shouldn’t be an issue for her, arguably she should be slightly better.

“We’ve been very pleased with her, she’s in good order and we’re excited to run her again.”

On the same card is the Unibet Silver Trophy Handicap Chase, a Grade Two event that would usually form part of the same card that was moved to Haydock when Cheltenham cancelled the final three meetings of the season to upgrade their drainage systems.

Among the runners is last year’s winner, Riskintheground, with Irish interest provided by Henry de Bromhead’s Zurich, John McConnell’s Moon d’Orange and Dermot McLoughlin’s Mousey Brown.
