Forest Green end losing run with hard-fought draw at Boreham Wood

Forest Green ended their three-game losing run in the National League by holding play-off rivals Boreham Wood to a 1-1 draw.

Rovers keeper Harry Isted twice denied Matt Rush in the first half, but he could not prevent Lewis Richardson from heading the Wood into a 52nd-minute lead.

Boreham Wood kept up the pressure, with Charlie O’Connell hitting the post and Rush seeing an effort cleared off the line, before Kyle McAllister drew Forest Green level from the penalty spot after 65 minutes.

Rovers substitute Joshua Osude was sent off in the 84th minute but the visitors held on for a share of the spoils.
