Tom Cursons treble helps Boston hammer Scunthorpe to extend winning run

Tom Cursons netted a hat-trick as Boston registered a fourth successive National League victory by beating Scunthorpe 6-3 at the Attis Arena.

Cursons tucked home Connor Teale’s cross for his third goal in as many games after seven minutes and Matty Carson found the top corner from 25 yards 14 minutes later.

Jake Rooney quickly added a third after a scramble, with in-form Callum Roberts pulling one back just before the half-hour mark with his 13th league goal of the season.

Rooney grabbed his second as the first half drew to a close and there was still time for Daniel Whitehall to convert a penalty for The Iron to make it 4-2 at the interval.

Cursons continued his fine scoring run by notching a fifth for Boston five minutes into the second half. And after Roberts had converted a second spot-kick of the game for the hosts, Cursons completed his hat-trick in the eighth minute of added time.
