Bolton’s bid for ninth successive victory frustrated by Bradford

Bolton’s bid for a ninth successive win in all competitions was foiled by Bradford as the Sky Bet League One promotion rivals played out a 0-0 draw.

With star loanee Amario Cozier-Duberry failing to score for only the second time in five games, Bolton could not prise open the Bantams’ stout defence.

The Brighton youngster was denied by keeper Sam Walker in the first half and twice shot wide in this first league meeting between the clubs for four years.

Walker also denied Jordi Osei-Tutu with Bradford mustering only one chance through Bobby Pointon in stoppage time which was pushed over by Teddy Sharman-Lowe.

The introduction of ex Trotter Antoni Sarcevic and Stephen Humphreys after half-time gave Bradford an extra attacking edge with Humphreys soon forcing a save again from Sharman-Lowe.

Bolton had scored 12 goals in their three previous games. However, it was Bradford who almost snatched a first league win since September 27 only for Sharman-Lowe to keep out substitute George Lapslie’s late right-foot effort.
