Queen’s Park’s home Scottish Championship match against Ross County on Friday night has been postponed.
The game was scheduled for a 7.45pm kick off at Lesser Hampden, but the pitch was deemed unsafe for the players.
Queen’s Park said: “Tonight’s match officials have postponed this evening’s William Hill Championship match against Ross County.
“The decision was taken on player safety grounds after discussion with both Queen’s Park head coach and Ross County’s manager.”
Ross County apologised to their fans on X for the late notice and Queen’s Park head coach Sean Crighton later told BBC Scotland: “There’s a lot of hard places on the pitch. There are a lot of areas that aren’t safe for the players.
“We’re absolutely gutted the game’s off. It’s not great but, at the end of the day, players’ safety’s paramount. It’s not an ideal situation for anybody.”
