Lionel Messi has signed a new contract with Inter Miami, the club have announced.
The 38-year-old, who captained Argentina to World Cup glory in 2022, has signed a deal through to 2028.
Messi joined the Major League Soccer club in 2023, having won four Champions League titles and 10 LaLiga crowns during a glorious stint at Barcelona.

Messi is set to feature for Argentina at the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Messi’s signing was a huge coup for Inter Miami and their co-owner, former England captain David Beckham, when the deal was struck in 2023.
The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner will now be with the club when they move to their new Freedom Park home in 2026.
Messi made his senior debut for Barcelona in 2004 after coming through the club’s youth set-up. He finally left in 2021, with the club unable to afford a new deal under LaLiga rules.
He moved to Paris St Germain, where he won two further league titles.
Messi was a World Cup runner-up in 2014 but finally secured the sport’s ultimate prize eight years later in Qatar, as Argentina beat France on penalties.
Messi told his club’s official website: “It makes me really happy to stay here and to continue with this project that, besides being a dream, has become a beautiful reality — playing in this stadium, at Miami Freedom Park.
“Since I arrived in Miami, I’ve been very happy, so I’m truly glad to keep going here.”

Beckham added: “Our vision was to bring the best players to Inter Miami and to this city, and that’s exactly what we have done.
“We brought the best player to have ever played the game to our city. That shows our commitment to Miami, but it also shows Leo’s commitment to the city, to the club and to the game.
“He’s still as committed as he’s ever been and he still wants to win. As owners, to have a player that loves the game as much as he does, and who has done as much for the game in this country and to inspire the next generation of young talent as he has, we feel very lucky.”
