Johnnie Jackson admitted he is enjoying management after his AFC Wimbledon side eased to a 2-0 win at Blackpool.
The Dons collected the points thanks to two goals from Danilo Orsi, the first from the spot late in the first half and the second a tap-in shortly after the hour mark.
“I’m well pleased with that one, I think the performance was really, really good,” said Jackson. “Top quality, and the win was fully deserved.
“I think we had a lot of control in the game, created a number of chances and limited the opposition to very few as well. We handled the conditions really well. Actually, I think the wind probably wasn’t as big a factor as we thought it might be, but we handled it well.
“Danilo got the opportunity because Matty Stevens has a hamstring injury, and he’s grabbed it. He’s trained really well, he’s been a top, top professional, top teammate, and he understood that the guys up there have been doing really well. Sometimes he’s got to wait, but today he got his chance, and he grabbed it. I’m so pleased for him.
“That’s four wins in a row, things are really good, but we’re not getting carried away. What we are doing is playing really well and we look a good team to me.
“There will be rocky moments, there will be bad runs that we have to endure together, but we’re playing well, and the results are following so we have to be pleased now.”
Blackpool boss Steve Bruce had to endure less-than-complimentary chants from disgruntled home fans during a dire showing from his team.
“There’s nothing positive to take from that,” said Bruce. “We can’t just blame it on the lads who weren’t in the team, it’s easy to do that. We have to analyse what we’ve seen in front of us and what I’ve seen today is certainly not acceptable.
“And Wimbledon are good at what they do. We didn’t have a clue how to break them down or how to get forward against them and in the end it’s turned into one of those horrible afternoons.
“At the end of the day I picked the wrong team – some would say I should have had Andy Lyons in the team, and maybe they’re right. I picked a team to cope with their physicality, but unfortunately it’s backfired.
“I’m the head coach and I can try to make as many excuses as I want but it’s not in my nature to do that. Today we were nowhere near what’s required or what we need to be. And for that I take the responsibility.”
