Partick Thistle keep run going by beating Queen’s Park

Partick Thistle claimed their fifth straight Scottish Championship win as Tony Watt’s early goal saw off Queen’s Park 1-0.

The visitors took the lead after only seven minutes when Watt nodded home from Logan Chalmers’ cross.

Thistle looked to extend their advantage minutes into the second half when Tsoanelo Letsosa fired wide.

Queen’s Park had chances for an equaliser when Josh Fowler had an effort blocked before Seb Drozd’s header flew over the crossbar.

Watt was denied a second in the closing stages by goalkeeper Calum Ferrie but the visitors had done enough to move second in the table.
