Lionel Messi picked up a brace and an assist to lead Inter Miami to a 3-2 victory over DC United on Saturday.
The 38-year-old connected with Tadeo Allende to open the scoring in the 35th minute, before Christian Benteke brought DC level just after the break.
The scores did not stay level for long though, Messi opening his account with a 66th-minute strike and sealing the deal near the end of regulation.

DC claimed a consolation goal to Jacob Murrell late in added time, but Inter Miami held on to claim their 15th win of the season.
Messi’s two-goal effort also propelled him past Nashville’s Sam Sturridge in the race for the Golden Boot award with 22 goals.
