Bolton end run of draws with win over nine-man AFC Wimbledon

Bolton broke a run of four successive 1-1 stalemates in League One to register a comfortable 3-0 win against nine-man AFC Wimbledon.

The Dons could have drawn first blood but Matty Stevens saw an early header flick off the post with goalkeeper Teddy Sharman-Lowe beaten.

Mason Burstow then pounced from close range to score his fourth of the season for Bolton after Chris Forino had headed Aaron Morley’s free-kick against the post.

Early in the second half Marcus Browne was shown a straight red by referee Darren Drysdale for a clumsy challenge on Max Conway. Three minutes later, Amario Cozier-Duberry curled a clever shot past Nathan Bishop to double the lead from a tight angle.

Joel Randall made it three when he diverted Conway’s bouncing shot inside the post.

Rampant Bolton might have stretched their lead further with Bishop making saves from Ibrahim Cissoko, Richard Taylor and Xavier Simons to keep the scoreline down.

Joe Lewis was sent off for a second bookable offence in stoppage time to cap off a miserable day for the South Londoners.
