A number of Limerick athletes impressed at Round 1 of the 123.ie National League at Abbotstown, Dublin last weekend
123.ie National League, Round 1
A NUMBER of Limerick athletes travelled up and competed in the 123.ie National League Round 1 event at Abbotstown as guests in this event which provided useful experience of National competition for Juveniles and Seniors alike.
Results included Jamie Mitchell (Emerald AC) 2nd in 60mh heat 2 in 7.17 secs, Dooneen’s Paul Costello was first in his 60m heat in 6.89 secs and was also 2nd in his 200m heat in 22.12. Rosie Gavin, of Limerick AC, was AC 5 th in her 60m in 8.15 secs.
Well done to all Juveniles from Limerick AC, Dooneen and West Limerick AC who took part in the North West Indoor Games in Athlone over Christmas.
PARKRUN
UL, Mungret and Shelbourne all fell foul of freezing conditions, while Newcastle West had a total of 38 finishers at the Demesne.
Ian Jennings was first in 20:42, Elaine Murphy (24:42) and Mary Ita O’Connor (25:52) were best Women.
FIXTURES
THE Limerick County Indoors take place next Sunday 14th January in Nenagh with a variety of events from Juvenile U9 to Junior.
It will be a first opportunity for many to represent their club while others will be more experienced.
The Tom Walsh 10K, in memory of Limerick’s first County Senior Cross Country Champion also takes place on Sunday 14th January at 12:30pm in Caherconlish. Entries through myrunresults.com
The Milford Hospice 10K 2024 has been announced for 11 th February, enter through Eventmaster. The Michal Rejmer 10 Mile 2024 takes place on Sunday 14th April from Limerick Racecourse.
Bespoke Medals for first 500 entries with a prize fund of over €2000 for first five Men and Women plus Male and Female O40, O50, O60 and O70 age categories. Enter through Eventmaster.

LIZ Hussey emerged from the middle of the pack early on to win the Munster Intermediate Cross Country Championship in a wind and rain swept Templemore, Co Tipperary.
Kieran Lynch, home from a Sports Scholarship in the US, finished in third place in the Men’s event with Ger Mullane 3rd M40 in the Masters competition.
