TWO LIMERICK basketball teams have progressed to the semi-finals of the National Cup after impressive wins over the weekend.
Both Limerick Sport Eagles and Limerick Celtics women's team got wins in their respective quarter-finals, while Limerick Celtics men's team lost out in extra-time.
In the InsureMyHouse.ie President's Cup quarter-finals Moy Tolka Rovers got the better of Limerick Celtics men's team after an extra-time win of 109-100.
Celtics battled to the bitter end but were pipped by the Dublin side for a chance to play in the National Cup.
Limerick Sport Eagles enjoyed an impressive 94-85 victory over SETU Carlow in the Barrow Center.
In the InsutrMyHouse.ie women's division one National Cup, Limerick Celtics women's team prevailed in their quarter-final clash against Templeogue in Limerick.
Home-grown talent Lucy Devoy was on fire for Celtics scoring a season high performance of 31 points followed by Samantha Coleman on 20 points.
Celtics performed well in the second and third quarter out scoring Templeogue and did well to maintain their lead throughout the game.
The semi-final's of the National Cup will take place in Cork city across various locations early in January.
