In Pictures: Desmond Cup glory for Dromore United in their maiden season

DROMORE United completed a cup double in their debut season with a 4-2 penalty shoot-out win over Glin Rovers seeing them to the Desmond Cup at Mick Hanley Park on Saturday evening last.

The fledgling side that formed in the off-season after Kildimo United and Pallaskenry merged. The Desmond Cup win added to that of the Division One Cup already in the trophy cabinet.

Teenage goalkeeper James Ranahan was the hero for Dromore with two saves in the shoot-out, while Ryan Kelly, Shaun Barry, Ben Higgins and Tiernan Meaney all hit the target in the win.

Photographer Brendan Gleeson was on hand to capture all the action and colour of the evening for the Limerick Leader / Limerick Live as Dromore created history.
