Dunfermline held but stretch lead to nine points

Runaway Scottish League One leaders Dunfermline were held to a goalless draw by FC Edinburgh.

Their lead at the top of the table increased to nine points, though, after second-placed Falkirk were beaten 1-0 at Queen of the South, Coll Donaldson’s own goal in the first half dividing the teams.

Third-placed Alloa now trail Falkirk by six points after a 3-1 victory over Clyde.

Ross McIver and Murray Miller scored either side of an equaliser from Liam Scullion, with Conor Sammon making sure in the 90th minute.

Airdrieonians in fourth made it 13 goals in two matches, beating bottom side Peterhead 7-0.

Calum Gallagher hit a hat-trick, Gabby McGill scored twice and Craig Watson and Adam Frizzell added one apiece.

Two late goals from Montrose earned them a 2-1 victory over Kelty Hearts.

The hosts took the lead inside the opening minute through Jamie Barjonas and it looked like it might be their day when Montrose missed a penalty but Michael Gardyne equalised in the 81st minute and Matheus Machado scored the winner three minutes from time.
