Deaths in Limerick: Monday, October 14, 2024

The death has occurred of Brigid Walsh (née Conway), Ballyvareen, Kildimo, Co. Limerick and late of Walsh Road Cargo.

September 29th 2025, peacefully in the wonderful care of all the staff at Thorpe’s Nursing Home, Clarina.

Beloved wife of the late Pat and dear mother to Catherine and Sean.

Pre-deceased by her brothers Patrick, Tommy and Timmy.

Sadly missed and fondly remembered by her grandchildren Melanie, Barry, David, Harrison, Evan and Fintan, great-grandchildren Lauren, Oliver, and Freddie, Barry’s wife Susan, daughter-in-law Eileen, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

May She Rest In Peace.

Reposing this Wednesday Evening (October 1st) at her daughter Catherine’s house in Ballycarney (V94CPH6) from 4pm with evening prayers at 6pm.

Funeral mass on Thursday (October 2nd) in St. Joseph’s Church, Ballybrown at 11am, after which Brigid will be laid to rest in Kilkeedy Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Mary (Maureen) Ryan (nèe Shanley​​​), Cosgrave Park, Moyross, Limerick.

September 28th 2025 peacefully, in the loving care of the Ennis Road Care Facility, surrounded by her loving family.

Sadly missed by her loving daughter Angela and Angela’s partner Michael, her adored grandchildren Alan, Dean and Sasha, her great-granddaughters Gracie and Eabha, brother John and sister Bridget, extended family and friends. Predeceased by her parents John and Violet Shanley, sisters Elizabeth and Ann, brother Francie, and her baby boy Martin.

May she rest in peace.

Reposing at her daughter Angela’s home at 127 Cliona Park, Moyross, V94 H7TV on Wednesday (1st October) from 3pm to 6pm. Funeral arriving at Corpus Christi Church, Moyross on Thursday (2nd October) for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by burial in Castlemungret Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Christopher (Christy) O’Dwyer, High Street, Croom, Co. Limerick.

September 29th 2025, peacefully in the wonderful care of all the staff at Caherass Nursing Home.

Pre-deceased by his parents Frances and Edmond and brothers Patsy, Eddie and Jimmy.

Sadly missed and fondly remembered by his brothers Michael, Vincy and John, sisters Mary (Lynch) and Ann (Lynch), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, kind neighbours and his friends.

The death has occurred of John Healy, Riverview, Ballyhahill and formerly of Carhubanemore, Loughill, Co. Limerick. 

John passed away peacefully, at home following a brief illness on September 28th 2025, in the loving care of his devoted family.

John is predeceased by his beloved wife Teresa, his parents Patrick and Bridget (née Mannix), his brothers Paddy Mannix, Mike and Jim and his niece Mary.

John will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his loving family Mary, Bridget, Joan, Patricia, Irene, Noreen and his son Patrick, his sister Mary (Florida), his son-in-law Seán, his grandchildren John-Christopher, Seán, Marie, Conor, Siobhán, Michael, Christina, Keith, Rebecca, Sarah, Jack and Chloe, nephews John and Michael, niece Maureen, great-grandchildren, cousins, extended family, relatives, neighbours, a large circle of friends and the finance committee of Gerald Griffins GAA Club, who will greatly miss his support and fundraising.

John will repose at the Church of the Visitation, Ballyhahill on this Tuesday evening (September 30th) from 5pm until 8pm. John’s Requiem Mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Visitation on Wednesday at 12noon followed by Interment at Loughill Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Paul Fergus (Fergie) Collins, Stripe, Furbo, Co. Galway and formerly of Nicholas Street, Limerick City.

In his family's loving arms on the morning of his beloved wife Brigid's funeral mass on 26th September 2025.

Pre-deceased by his wife Brigid, his brother Michael and sisters Celine, Kathleen, Maisie, Angela, Terry, Philomena and Vera.

Beloved husband of Brigid and dearly loved father of Catherine, Jennifer, Claire, Eamon, Fergus and Declan.

Fergie will be deeply missed and always remembered by his loving family, his grandchildren Chelsea, Robert, Nathan, Bruce, Alex, Meadhbh, Julia and Peter, great granddaughter Avery, daughters-in-law Sara and Corrine, partners Ales and Liv, sisters Precious and Geraldine, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in the Cillín within The Church of Mary Immaculate Queen, Barna on Tuesday 30th September from 5pm until 6.30pm. Requiem Mass on Wednesday October 1st at 12noon in Realt na Mara Church, Furbo. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery where Fergie will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Brigid.
