Promotion-chasing Treaty United host Wexford FC in crunch fixture

PROMOTION-CHASING Treaty Utd are back in action in the League of Ireland First Division against Wexford FC this Friday night at the Markets Field at 7.45pm.

Wexford currently sit in fifth place in the First Division on 37 points, while Treaty United are behind them in eighth place on 32 points.

Tommy's Barrett's side will be hoping to build on their recent excellent run of form in Friday night's meeting of the promotion-chasing sides. Barrett has put their recent form down to scoring more goals.

“We're taking our chances. We've a good defensive record in the league. We've started scoring a few goals but we've still got to keep those clean sheets and finish teams off when we can,” Tommy Barrett said.

Treaty are currently five points off the promotion play-off places and the Limerick side will need to finish the season strongly if they are push into the play-off places.

Treaty United cruised past Pike Rovers in the last 16 of the FAI Cup where they won 7-0. The Garryowen-based side have now into the last eight of the FAI Cup.

Treaty will face Friday night's opponents Wexford FC in the quarter-finals of the Sports Direct FAI Cup.

That game will take place on the weekend of September 17 in Ferrycarrig Park.
