Enda Curran bagged a hat-trick in Treaty United's 7-0 Munster Senior Cup quarter-final win over Midleton
TREATY United will make the trip south in the Munster Senior Cup semi-final for a fixture with Kerry FC at Mounthawk Park next month.
Tommy Barrett's side will play their Airtricity League First Division rivals in the last four clash on or before March 18 following the 7-0 drubbing of Midleton at the Markets Field on Friday night.
Treaty blitzed their Cork opponents thanks to an Enda Curran hat-trick and two goals each from Willie Armshaw and debutant Thomas Considine.
Curran's trio of goals all came in a 13 minute first half spell as Treaty took full control of the first half. Considine also hit the target twice to help Treaty to a 5-0 advantage at the break. Armshaw then bagged a brace in a second half that saw Barrett make five substitutions.
Treaty get their league season underway on Friday, February 16 with a home fixture against fellow Munster opposition Cobh Wanderers at the Garryowen venue at 7.45pm.
The club have also confirmed that their senior teams and academy teams will be wearing a blue home jersey for the coming campaigns.
Treaty United released the following statement on the matter this afternoon "The move sees Treaty United line out in the colour most greatly associated with the long, storied history of Senior football in Limerick.
"The origins of Limerick Senior football saw sides line out in red-and-white striped jerseys in 1937, something which Treaty United have paid homage to in the club’s first four seasons of football.
"However, a change to blue jerseys from August 1943 onwards has seen the colour become closely linked with Senior football in Limerick, and the club have acted on the wishes of supporters by changing the home kit colours going forward."
Treaty United CEO Ciara McCormack added that it was consultations with club fans that has ultimately seen the club change their home kit.
"One of the things that we have said, and was most important to us coming in, was that we wanted to give local fans a voice. The home strip being blue was a loud message we heard and with this in mind we are excited to have Treaty wear blue at home for the 2024 season."
