In Pictures: Limerick sides in Munster Schools Cup rugby action

ST MUNCHIN'S College continued their impressive run in the preliminary round of the Pinergy Munster Schools Senior Cup after securing a 33-27 victory over CBC, of Cork, in Corbally on Wednesday.

St Munchin's, who led CBC 21-19 at half-time, went on to outscore their Cork visitors by five tries to four in an entertaining contest.

Group B table toppers St Munchin's have now recorded wins in each of their three group fixtures to date in the opening phase of the competition.

Impressive centre Oisin Pepper bagged a hat-trick of tries in the Corbally side's latest victory, while hooker Peter Dougan and full-back Matthew Te Pou also crossed the whitewash. Out-half Cillian O'Connor completed the St Munchin's scoring with four successful conversions.

St Munchin's will face Glenstal Abbey in their final Pinergy Munster Schools Senior Cup Group B round robin fixture at the end of the month.

Meanwhile, a 28-12 victory for Crescent College Comprehensive over Castletroy College at Dooradoyle was the result recorded in the other fixture featuring Limerick sides.

The Dooradoyle side outscored their visitors by four tries to two. The Castletroy College tries were scored by Darragh McMahon and Liam Glynn kicked a conversion for the Newtown school.

Crescent College travel to Murroe to face Glenstal Abbey on Monday next for their remaining Group B round robin fixture.
