Munster players help Combined Provinces side secure another win

THE Combined Provinces made it three wins out of three in the Celtic Challenge after securing a 19-0 victory over WRU Development XV at a wet and windy Kingspan Stadium on Saturday.

Wales Development dominated territory and possession but the opening quarter remained scoreless, the home’s only chance came from a line break by Limerick woman Aoife Doyle but the winger was hauled down short of the line.

The Combined Provinces were rewarded with the opening try on 27 minutes.

Hooker Deirbhile Nic a Bhaird took a quick tap off a penalty award and went over unopposed from close range. Out-half Dannah O’Brien also added the extras for 7-0. 

Greg McWilliams’ side maintained their 7-0 lead until half-time.

The Combined Provinces added two further tries in the second half from Kayla Waldron after 60 mins and Aoife Wafer eight minutes before full-time to seal the win. Dannah O’ Brien converted the second of those tries.
