At the January monthly meeting of the Newcastle West Municipal District, councillors approved General Municipal Allocation (GMA) funding to support Athea United AFC.
A total of €2,100 was allocated to the club through Cllr Michael Collins, Cllr Francis Foley and Cllr John Sheahan.
The funding will be used for the purchase of new stadium seating and essential equipment, helping to improve facilities for players, volunteers and supporters at the West Limerick club.
The allocation forms part of a wider package of GMA funding approved by councillors to assist community and voluntary groups across the municipal district.
