THE MINISTER for Health has sent his good wishes to Limerick TD and Minister of State Patrick O'Donovan who was taken to hospital after becoming unwell in the Dáil chamber.

Mr O'Donovan received some medical attention in Leinster House on Thursday afternoon shortly after he had finished speaking during a "Topical Issues" debate.

An ambulance was called and the Dáil was suspended by the Ceann Comhairle a short time later.

It's understood Mr O'Donovan has been admitted to St James' Hospital in Dublin and is undergoing tests. He is said to be "good form".

Speaking during a visit to Limerick this Friday, Minister Stephen Donnelly told Limerick Today on Live 95. “I was told Patrick had taken a turn in the chamber and I absolutely wish Patrick the very best.”

The minister will officially open a new Pain Management Centre and New Theatre Suite at Croom Orthopaedic Hospital later.
