THERE are plans to develop a new Lidl store in Abbeyfeale.

The planning application which was submitted earlier this month proposes the demolition of Sheehy’s Hardware Store, on Killarney Road and the construction of a new two storey, discount foodstore, measuring 2,258sqms.

The plans also propose the construction of surface level car parking spaces, including EV charging spaces, cycle stands and a trolley bay shelter.

The new modern, concept Lidl store will be designed having regard to the commercial development in the area.
