PICTURES: Defence Forces service remembers those who lost their lives this year

In one of his last duties as Tánaiste and Minister for Defence, Micheál Martin attended a remembrance service for the Defence Forces in Dublin this week for who lost their lives in service this year.

The Tánaiste, senior members of the Defence Forces and family members laid flowers at the The National Memorial in Merrion Square on Wednesday, November 6.

The purpose of the Defence Forces Remembrance Ceremony is to provide an internal event for serving members and invited guests to commemorate members of Óglaigh na hÉireann who died in service in the past year
