In Division 1A, leaders Pike Rvs B were not in action and Mungret took advantage by closing the gap with a 2-1 win over Fairview B, a Marcus Finucane double accounted for Mungret’s scores.

Caherconlish picked up their first league win of the season beating Summerville Rvs 3-2.

Brendan Hourigan (2) and Mark O’Connor netted for the winners a with Gary Rainsford hitting a double for Rovers.

Caherdavin Celtic and Shannon Town drew 3-3 at the Greenhills. Keith Doran, Keith O’Shea and Ralph Judge were on the mark for the home side; Adrian Carew, Fergal McCarthy and Ken Buckley replied for Shannon. The big game in Div 1B between the top two went the way of Hospital on a 7-2 scoreline. Goals from Shaun O’Brien (2), Barry Ryan (2), Stephen Meade, Damien Sheehy and Chris Dineen accounted for the winning scores.

Roy O’Connell hit a brace for Athlunkard Villa but they went down 5-2 to Bruff Utd for whom Sean Kelly (2), Niall Burchill, Conor Hayes and Pappy Kelly scored and Murroe beat Corbally Utd B 2-1; Drew McLean and Eoin O’Connor for the winners and Stephen Bourke for Corbally were on the mark.

In Div 2A Weston Villa with goals from Jonathon McCarthy (2) and Philip Moore beat Geraldines B 2-1 while Kilmallock and Shelbourne drew 1-1; Sam Egan scored again for Shelbourne.

Hill Celtic signed quite a few players and posted a 4-3 win over St Pauls. Ray Foley scored a hat trick for Saints but goals from Dara McNamara, Aaron Dawson and a brace from Paul Goodman won the day for Celtic.

Dara Sheehan and Wayne Cronin with a hat trick each contributed to Southend’s 6-3 win over leaders Coonagh Utd for whom Graham Minogue, Niall Hogan and Pat McCarthy were on the mark.

Abbey raced to the top of Div 3A with a 7-1 win at Caherconlish. Kevin Barry scored twice after his transfer from ‘Boro with Glen Bussoli, Dave Healy, James Purcell, Marcus Quirke and Pat Collins also netting. Tony Carroll scored for Glenview but they fell 2-1 to St Pats B. Christian Kerley (2) and Richie Fox scored for Athlunkard Villa in a 3-0 win over Aisling Annacotty while Coonagh Utd B pipped Shelbourne B 4-3. Killian Collins (2), Rob Mawdsley and Alan Spillane netted for the winners; Philip Ryan, Richie Hehir and Shane O’Halloran for Shels. Noel Ryan scored for Murroe but they fell 2-1 to Moyross B.

In Div 4 Dermot McCarthy scored all goals in Castle Utd’s win over Hyde Rgs B.

Prospect Priory C fell at home to Croom Utd for whom Vinny Lawlor, Barry Roche and Shane Fitzgerald were on the mark.

In the FAI Youth Cup goals from Colm Connolly (2), C McCormack, D Casey (2) and M O’Halloran gave Charleville victory over Regional Utd on a 6-5 scoreline. No scorers from Regional.

Ryan Deere hit a hat trick along with a goal from Aaron Power which saw them past Croom on a 4-3 scoreline.

Fairview Rgs brushed aside Shannon Town 4-1; Wesley O’Sullivan (3) and Eddie Byrnes scored while goals from Danny McInerney (2), John Ryan and James Cleary gave Moyross victory over Caherdavin Celtic on a 4-2 scoreline.

Cappamore and Meanus ended 2-2 with the home side progressing on spot kicks.

Alex Slattery and Gillan Piveteau for Cappamore and David Prendergast and David Creagh for Meanus were on target.

In the Under 17 League Newport beat Geraldines with goals from Keegan Park, Kieran Casey, Kalem Harte and Kevin Mawdsley with Monsouir Adair replying for ‘Dines.
