THIEVES stole over £20,000 from a security firm in Limerick over the weekend.
And today the gardai asked for the public’s co-operation in trying to catch the gang responsible for the burglary.
The money was stolen from a premises in the Galvone Industrial Estate, which was being used by Brinks Allied security company.
“A substantial sum of money was taken in the robbery,” a spokesman for Roxboro Garda Station confirmed.
However, the spokesman would not confirm how much money was taken. It has been indicated, however, by well informed sources that the figure is over £20,000.
Most of the money is understood to have earlier been picked up by security men at Todd’s department store.
Along with the cash, gift vouchers were taken from Todd’s, which the garda spokesman alerted the public to look out for.
