Appeal issued over petrol bomb thrown into Coleraine home

An appeal has been issued after a petrol bomb was thrown into a home in Coleraine while three people were inside.

The occupants were able to extinguish the fire and no one was injured.

Witnesses to the incident or those with information are being asked to contact authorities.

Detective Sergeant Higgins said: “It was reported that a petrol bomb was thrown through the front window of a house in the Maple Drive area of the town at approximately 1.30am.

“Three people were inside the property at the time, and managed to extinguish the fire.

“Thankfully, no one was injured as a result of the incident.

“Inquiries to establish the circumstances of the report are under way, and we would appeal to anyone who has any information which could assist us, to get in touch.”
