Fire service rescues ‘casualty’ during Colin Glen operation

A rescue operation has concluded at Colin Glen forest outside Belfast.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) were alerted to the incident at approximately 12.30pm on Saturday.

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) also attended.

A spokesman for NIFRS said it mobilised two fire appliances from Cadogan Fire Station to the incident.

The Special Rescue Team from Central Fire Station was also sent to to the incident.

The spokesman added: “One female casualty was rescued using rope rescue equipment and the casualty has now been handed over to the NIAS.”
