No changes to Local Property Tax in Limerick for next year

THERE will be no changes in the Local Property Tax (LPT) for Limerick homeowners in 2024.
It comes after last year, members voted in favour of keeping the LPT and its variation rate at 2022 levels for two years.
It means, as was the case last year, the tax will be 15% above the base rate for 2024.
It will be one of the first acts of the next local authority to decide whether to increase, freeze or keep the rate above the rate set by government.
Separately, the local authority budget meeting will take place on Friday, November 17.
It will be here the commercial rate for city and county will be struck.
