Irish fans of American Football are celebrating following the announcement that ten NFL games are to be shown on free-to-air television over the coming months.
The new partnership will see Virgin Media Television broadcast all six 2025 International Games in Europe including the historic clash between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota at Croke Park on Sunday, September 28.
VMTV will also air three playoff matchups in January and Super Bowl LX in February.
The broadcaster says it will deliver comprehensive live coverage of the historic clash between the Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers at Croke Park on Virgin Media One with live coverage beginning at 1.30pm.
In addition to the Dublin game, Virgin Media will showcase all three London fixtures, as well as games in Berlin and Madrid.

“We are delighted to be partnering with the NFL to broadcast 10 thrilling games this season, including the historic Vikings vs. Steelers matchups at Croke Park and Super Bowl LX,” said Mick McCaffrey, Director of News and Sports at Virgin Media Television.
“The sport has never been more popular in Ireland, and we’re excited to bring viewers our own analysis and take on the best of the live action—all free-to-air.”

“The 2025 NFL Dublin Game marks an exciting milestone for the sport in Ireland as we look to grow fandom in the market,” said Laura Louisy, Director of International Business Development and Media at the NFL.
“Virgin Media Television is a fantastic partner—not only bringing this historic game to Irish audiences free-to-air, but also delivering broader access to the sport throughout the 2025 season, including international matchups, playoffs, and the Super Bowl,” she added.
The Virgin Media Television coverage of the NFL will be led by presenter Tommy Martin with contributions and analysis from current NFL defensive end Efe Obada, Michael McQuaid, Tadhg Leader, Dave McIntyre and Bernard O'Toole.
