Arrests have been made after drugs worth an estimated 2.1 million euro were seized in Dublin and Wicklow.
Residential addresses in the Dublin and Wicklow areas were searched by Gardai on Thursday.
During the course of the operation, 98 kilos of cannabis and two kilos of cocaine – with a combined estimated street value of 2.1 million euro – were seized.
Five people were arrested and have been detained at Garda stations in the eastern region.
A man in his 40s is being detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.
Three women, one aged in her 40s and two in their 30s, and a man in his 30s, are being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
The searches were conducted as part of Operation Tara and ongoing investigations targeting organised crime, involving the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau assisted by the Ballymun and Balbriggan Drug Units.
