Gardaí in Kilkenny have taken to social media, sharing details of an encounter with a brazen motorist that was stopped in Bennettsbridge on Friday, October 10.

Referencing the use of 'Tipp-Ex', gardaí joked: "No doubt the garda from the Premier County who detected this illegally altered disc was still seeing his county's glory in his mind when he made this traffic stop in Bennettsbridge.

"The innovative application of correction fluid was not enough to beat the ANPR on this occasion.

"The driver now faces a further summons on top of driving uninsured.

"We wonder will this discovery modify his chant for next year, here's hoping. Unlikely though."
