The FSAI has warned that the implicated batches of the snack may be 'unsafe' for some consumers

'Do not eat': Warning issued as popular snack is recalled amid allergy concerns

An alert has been issued by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) for a number of Malabar Choice products which have been recalled due to allergy concerns.   

Their Malabar Choice Peri Peri Murukku snacks have been recalled as they contain milk which has not been declared on the labels of the products.

The FSAI has warned that this may make the products "unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of milk." The alert added that these customers "should not eat the implicated products."   

The recalled Malabar Choice Peri Peri Murukku are the 150 gram pack size with the batch number DFE 09. 

The Best Before date of the implicated batch is April 2026.
