Two arrested after cocaine worth 1.2 million euro seized

Two men have been arrested after more than a million euro worth of cocaine was seized in Dublin.

The cocaine was seized during an operation in the Dublin 11 and 15 areas on Wednesday which was led by the Finglas Drugs Unit.

Gardai from the Crime Response Team and Regional Armed Response Unit were also involved in the operation.

At a residence in Dublin 11, gardai seized approximately 12kg of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of 840,000 euro.

A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene and detained under drug trafficking legislation.

At another residence in Dublin 15, gardai seized approximately 5.5kg of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of 375,000 euro.

A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene and also under the same legislation.

Both men have since been charged.

The drugs seized will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.

Investigations are ongoing.
