Investigations are continuing after gardai seized six electric scooters and seven electric bikes gardaí during a major operation in Dublin.
A drone was also seized as well as a diesel scrambler and an electric Surron scrambler - a particular type of off-road motorbike.
Confirming details of the seizures as part of Operation Meacan, a spokesperson said gardai suspect the items were being used in criminal activity.
The Hague Centre for Strategic Studies research has found that “drones present several strategic benefits to criminals, especially with regards to the trafficking of illicit goods, the surveillance of rival territory, and the coercion of groups who attempt to resist OCG [Organised Criminal Group] violence”.
Friday's 'Day of Action' led to the arrest of four individuals - three of whom already had active warrants issued for their arrest.

Gardai say €10,000 of suspected liquid THC and €500 worth of cannabis were also taken during the same operation, which involved a large number of gardai
Five different properties across Blanchardstown, Ballyfermot, Clondalkin and Rathcoole were the subject of the operation.
Gardaí have said that investigations are ongoing.
