'Enjoy more time for myself and with my family' - Laois man scoops up €1 million Lotto jackpot
A Laois man has claimed the life-changing €1 million from the National Lottery after winning the Daily Million draw on Friday night, 18 July.
The National Lottery revealed on Tuesday that the winning Quick Pick ticket was sold in Dunnes Stores Kyle Shopping Centre in Portlaoise, County Laois on Friday.
The lucky Laois man has now become Ireland's fifth Daily Million millionaire of 2025.
Speaking about his big win while collecting his cheque at the National Lottery HQ, the long-time Daily Million player said he always believed his day would come and that he kept the winning ticket safely tucked away in his wallet since the draw.

Speaking to the National Lottery, the Laois man explained how this has felt like a well-deserved win: "I am delighted with this win. I’m looking forward to being able to share the win with my family. I have a strong work ethic so my goal is to be sensible with the win, pursue some business interests, but also enjoy more time for myself and with my family."
Wednesday night's Lotto jackpot is heading towards an estimated €12.2 million, meaning there could be another millionaire in Ireland tonight.
