A man has died after getting into difficulty in the River Suir in Carrick-on-Suir on Tuesday, July 1, Gardaí have confirmed.
A statement from the Gardaí said,
"Gardaí were alerted to an incident where a male encountered difficulty in the water in Carrick-on-Suir at approximately 8:30pm on Tuesday.

"His body has since been recovered from the river. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Investigations are ongoing."
