An Garda Síochána took to social media to call out a taxi driver who drove through a stop sign while using their mobile phone.
The taxi driver nearly hit the side of a 'very visible' Garda patrol car, according to gardaí on social media platform X.
The driver was stopped and they were issued FCPN, gardaí said.
"Please think of other road users and do not use your phone while driving," gardaí said on X.
The social media post has received quite a few comments from Irish people concerned about road safety.
One person commented," Taxi drivers are by far worst of all on the roads. Half haven't a clue how to drive. Must be handing out SPSV licence off back of a cereal box!".
This driver was so distracted by their phone that they completely ignored a stop sign and nearly hit the side of our very visible patrol car.

Another person said, "As always, Irish road cretins everywhere, no respect for rules or common sense. A plague. Forceful social re-education, relentless Garda presence, harsher penalties, and sky-high fines are necessary to make these idiots think twice before touching a wheel."
"I see it all the time where I’m living. There are young men driving tractors while looking at their phones," another person said.
