Gardai say the young girl was competing in an event at the Cork Autograss Racing Club when her vehicle crashed
A number of investigations are underway after a 13-year-old girl died in a crash at a motor racing event in west Cork on Sunday afternoon, gardai have said.
In an appeal for witnesses, they say the incident happened at a race track in Enniskeane, close to Bandon.
It's understood the young girl, who was from the locality, was competing in an event at the Cork Autograss Racing Club when her vehicle crashed.
She died at the scene and her body was taken to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem will be carried out.
