Tributes have been paid following the passing of Luke John Hyde of Wolfe Tone Street, Cork City, Cork.
Luke passed away suddenly after a tragic accident on 30th April 2025.

Dearly beloved youngest son of Lily (nee Ricken) and the late Michael, loving brother of Michael, Mark, Lucia and the late Brian. Sadly missed by his heartbroken mother, his darling son Leon, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.
Tributes have been paid in the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows:
"RIP Luke and condolences to his family. I knew Luke since we were young in school and he was always one of the nice guys! A gentle giant as many have said!"
Another reads:
"I am so very very sorry for the tragic loss of your beloved son. I am also very angry at the despicable way he was treated in his last moments. How these people can live with themselves is beyond me. I really hope in time you can find peace. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Rest in perfect peace Luke"
Funeral Arrangements
Reposing at Coughlan’s Funeral Home, Shandon Street on Saturday (3rd May) from 12noon, family in attendance from 3.00pm with Rosary at 4.00pm. Requiem Mass on Monday (5th May) at 10.00am in the North Cathedral. If you wish to view the Mass, click on http://www.corkcathedral.ie and follow link. Funeral afterwards to St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Kilcully.
