The search for a 46-year-old woman who was last seen in Dublin on Holy Thursday has been stood down following the discovery of a body, gardai have confirmed.
Gardaí had issued an urgent public appeal on Easter Sunday for help in tracing the whereabouts of 46-year-old Siobhan Hegarty, who was last see in the Swords area of the capital.
However, in an update this Monday evening, gardai confirmed the appeal has now been stood down.
"Following the discovery of a woman’s body earlier today (Monday) in north county Dublin, the missing person appeal in respect of 46-year-old Siobhan Hegarty, reported missing from Swords, County Dublin, since Thursday, April 17, 2025 has been stood down," read a brief statement issued by the Garda Press Office.

No further information has been disclosed publicly but gardai have thanked members of the public and the media and public for their assistance with the appeal in recent days.
